When everyone awakes, they notice they are surrounded by trees and the ground is rough and the footing is unstable. The determine they are in a forest. Thorn doesn’t recognize it as any place in the Eldeen Reaches like with our previous encounter in the nightmare zone. Rae suddenly runs off, after the realization that her sister was killed sets in. Ashkhad attempts to chase after her but she moves to quickly to follow. He regroups to find that Thorn and Ratchet discover a clearing, and in the center is a long table, set up to appear as a tea party. A humans and some rabbit looking character are sitting and a bit further away is a small hut. The three of them venture forth to begin asking questions but the characters at the table simply say that there is not enough seats at the table, despite there being multiple empty chairs. Unsure of what to do, they decide to just sit down, and the two others change their attitude to a more inviting one. They ask if we would like some tea, and while we say yes, they don’t get around to passing the tea pot towards us. Thorn decides he has had enough, and gets up to examine the house. He steps through the door and the rest follow.
Rae continues running through the forest but her body changes against her will and she appears as a small child. She stops running next to a location with large mushrooms and a large caterpillar smoking some sort of substance. She tries to say hello but the creature merely poses a question, “Who are you.” Confused, she attempts to answer but none are satisfactory to the creature. The creature turns to leave but gives her advice about mushrooms. Rae does something here ( ).
Ashkhad, Thorn and Ratchet enter the hut and find themselves in the a room with no windows. When the door shuts behind them, it disappears. A table with a drink is on it attracts their attention with a sign telling them to drink it. When Ratchet takes a drink, he shrinks down to a minuscule size and notices a box with a cake and key inside. Eating the cake, causes him to grow, and after the three of them experiment with the size changing food, they manage to use the key on another door and make their way out.
They wander around for a bit longer and make their way to a seemingly innocent garden. But vines sprout from the ground and begin attacking everyone. They handle the vines and escape into a nearby maze. Within the maze they find Rae running but are unable to catch up to her. After wandering around they are teleported into the city.
Rae realizes that she is a hero to her people and gets her Keyblade. In a quick strike before, Ko can react she kills him, severing his head from his body. The nightmare zone doesn’t disperse though. A solid glowing heart-like crystal remains and Ashkhad recognizes it as the object keeping the area together. Rae runs up to strike it but it doesn’t even make a dent. Thorn summons his Keyblade and the two of them strike at it together. The crystal shatters and the nightmare zone dispels. Two changelings lie dead in the room, one Ko, and the other, that upon closer examination ends up not being Rae’s sister, Skye. Ashkhad guides everyone through the corridors and leads them back outside. They take the day off and rest before deciding to continue on.
